DOES THE INTERNET FAVOR THE RICH AND FAMOUS?

The Internet is very democratic. Huge national brokerages get no preferential
treatment from the search engines. All Websites have a chance of gaining
page one placement but some Websites have more of a chance than others.
So even if you are a single agent or a solo broker working without a well-known
franchise, you have as much chance as anyone else but you have got to
follow the rules.

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

The rules are simple. Set up an optimized Website and get backlinks! An
optimized Website is NOT a template. It has content or pages with words written by an expert who knows how to write for search engines. It uses graphics wisely so as not to interfere with the search engine robots. It is built using design methods that search engines can see and navigate. Backlinks are links coming from otherWebsites pointing to your site. These backlinks must be quality links from a Website in a related industry such as real estate, mortgage, appraisal, etc. These backlinks must not be paid links or come from a link farm or link scheme.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?

The first alternative that comes to mind is Pay per Click advertising. Secondly, you can buy leads from companies that do have top placement in order to sell quality leads to those who do not. Or, you can put your listings on real estate directories such as Realtor.com or Trulia or on general directories that have a real estate section such as Craig?s List. All of these alternatives are more costly and less effective than getting top search engine placement in the Free section.
