WRITING FOR SEARCH ENGINES When you are planning your Real Estate Web Design, make sure you write pages for the search engines as well as for people. They do not like the same things. Whereas for people you need to write short paragraphs with bold headings and use bullets and interesting offers to keep people?s attention, a long page of text will do just fine for search engines. Search engines like words. Having said this, I will point out that if you give your headings a h1 or h2 tag, search engines are especially impressed. But this is something you need to do. It does not just happen.
An important part of real estate web design is including the proper headings to the text on the page. To give your paragraph headings the h1 tag, you can include these tags as you write or you can select Heading 1 or Heading 1 formats in your page tool bar. Headings alert search engines just as they do people that this is something important. Beyond this, search engines need to see the appropriate use of your keyword phrase or search term in the body of the text on your Web pages. For example, if you are trying to target people searching for Alhambra Real Estate you must make sure that phrase appears several times on the page. But do not think you can just stuff the page with keyword phrases because the search engines are on to this trick.
Real Estate Web designers have tried various methods to fool the search engines into believing that the Website has more authority and more information than it actually has. Some of their methods that do not work are keyword stuffing, creating bridge pages and hiding keywords on the page by using the same font color as the page background. This is a silly method that no one who ever understood search engines would have ever used, but some still do.
