TO PAY OR NOT TO PAY? THAT IS TODAY’S QUESTION
The trick is to get top search engine placement and keep your marketing budget affordable. Now, if money is no object, the pay-per-click option that is available through Google will produce quality leads if you pay the full boat and go for top of page one placement. If TO PAY is the option you choose, there is no benefit to bottom of page one placement or anything on page two or beyond. Nobody goes there. If you want top of page one placement but do not have the budget for pay-per-click then your only other option is to target the FREE Listing section, i.e. the left two-thirds of the page. Well, the cost involved in getting your Website placed at the top of page one in the FREE section is all in your Website set up. There is no monthly cost you have to pay the search engines but unless you are skilled in the complex development of optimizing a Website, you will probably have to pay someone who is skilled to set this up for you. Comparatively speaking, setting up an optimized Website and going after top search engine placement in the FREE section is a tiny fraction of the cost of ongoing pay-per-click advertising.
